Now that fall is upon us, the city is bustling with festivals galore, schools are back in session and hopes for a Royals postseason are high. Some of my favorite parts about this time of year besides the amazing weather include enjoying a bonfire on a crisp night, pulling out my fall sweaters, all desserts related to apples and cinnamon (who doesn’t love a good apple crisp?!) and the start of fall baseball, cross-country and soccer for my kids.
This school year brought on some big changes for our family because my oldest child started his freshman year of high school. Everyone told me that time would go fast when we were just starting our family, but I had no idea what that truly meant until now. I honestly can say it feels a bit surreal that we are already here, however we are also excited for this new season of his life. Moms of young children out there: it goes fast, so enjoy it!
Our September issue is dedicated to fashion. We highlighted a few local entrepreneurs that are making a statement in the local fashion scene through their creations. Many of them sell their locally sourced products right here in KC, so check them out and see where to find their products around town. We also wanted to formally introduce you all to our newest contributor, Becky from the Cella Jane Blog. She is a local resident and blogger from right here in Johnson County but shares her fashion and style choices with hundreds of thousands of followers from all over the country. You can read more about her and her involvement in the fashion community in her full feature article inside. We are excited to add her to our Lifestyle team.
