The Vanderslice Committee of the Kansas City Art Institute (KCAI), held its Palette and Palate 2012 fundraiser on June 5th at the country estates of Dennis D. Hennessy and Richard Carrothers and John Flower. The evening was highlighted by Chef Jonathan Justus, of Justus Drugstore, preparing special tastings for all to enjoy. Organized in 1963, The Vanderslice Committee is a volunteer support organization of the KCAI, raising funds for the restoration and beautification of Vanderslice Hall, the college’s main administrative building and the crown jewel of the KCAI campus. The historic mansion dates back to 1896 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Photos by Keith Gard.
